Is Social Capital a Magic Solution for Deprived Areas Empowerment? Analysis of Findings from South of Iran

Empowerment is one of the basic concepts of social development. In fact, capacity building and empowerment of villagers and organizations is a prerequisite for sustainable development. In this research, social capital network of rural people, through completing the network analysis questionnaire and direct interview with the members rural development groups are reviewed. This research is in Dehnoo village of the city Qale Ganj in Kerman province has taken place. Dehnoo village is covered by the local communities empowerment project (LCEP). The research was done with the approach of social networks. In order to realize social empowerment, the components of capital To strengthen social like partnership and trust among people. In this regard, the bonds of trust and partnership Among ۹۴ members in village development groups (VDG) in the region under investigation using quantitative indicators of the macro level of the network were examined and the social capital of individuals in different stages before theimplementation of the project, and after the formation of the microcredit fund, was evaluated. Results show gave the amount of social capital and, accordingly, the amount of trust and participation before implementation the project is medium in size and has been increased during the formation of the micro credit fund.therefore, it can be said that the implementation of this project which emphasizes empowerment through the strengthening of social capital the amount of social capital has increased in the network of members of the small fund of Dehnoo village.
