IDENTIFYING AN UNKNOWN THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF A SEMI -INFINITE REGION THROUGH AN INVERSE HEAT CONDUCTION PROBLEM

An inverse heat conduction problem in a semi-infinite region with temperature-dependent material properties is investigated. Using an appropriate overspecified data, we solve the problem by the heat balance integral method. For more accuracy we solve the inverse problem by the finite difference method. Temperature distribution and thermal conductivity are obtained for the two methods and are in reasonably good agreement.
