چکیده مقاله:
In this study, a cross-linked chitosan modified with poly maleic acid were utilized as a adsorbent for the removing of Malachite Green Dye from aqueous solutions. The rate of dye removal was greatly influenced by pH, dye strength, amount of adsorbent and contact time. Chitosan/Poly(Maleic Acid) zinc oxide composite was synthesized and characterized using various spectroscopic methods and employed as an inexpensive adsorbent for water purification. The key goal of the work was to synthesize a benign and cost-effective adsorbent (CS/PMA–ZnO) with high uptake capacity and decreased residence time for sorption of hazardous dyes from aqueous media. The role of ZnO nanoparticles were utilized for immobilization of chitosan/PMA composite to supress their aggregation during adsorption process and also to improve the number of surface active sites of chitosan.
